Clean the surface
Make sure the PCB pads or wires are free from dust or grease.
Press the tip (if needed)
Some pens require you to gently press the tip to start the flow of flux.
Apply flux
Lightly “paint” the flux onto the area where you’ll solder (pads, component leads, or wires).
Solder as usual
Heat the joint with your soldering iron and apply solder. You’ll notice it spreads more evenly.
Clean residue (optional but recommended)
Depending on the flux type (like no-clean vs rosin), you may want to wipe the area with isopropyl alcohol.
